Pressure Cooker SDG Strategy

In 2015 all UN member states adopted the Sustainable Development Goals. Effective engagement of business is vital to achieve the 17 Goals and their 169 sub targets. At the moment, many companies have embraced the SDGs, but operationalization is still a challenge in different ways. We will therefore be organizing a Pressure Cooker SDG Strategy, together with the Impact Institute

Course Objective

During this 1-day Pressure Cooker SDG Strategy we will provide you with both a theoretical framework and practical advice to engage with the SDGs in a strategic way. Our aim is to get more companies up to speed with the SDGs and help them overcome the challenges they face in order to get to effective engagement. We will work on SDG Scenario’s and an SDG Strategy for your own organization.

Target Group

Professionals with the ambition to have a deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and how to adapt their business.

Morning session ‘Develop SDG scenarios for your business’

Main benefits:

*The SDG scenarios will make your assumptions on the likelihood of realization of the SDGs and the main value drivers (cost, compliance, competitive advantage etc.) explicit.

Afternoon session ‘Identify and prioritize strategic options’

Main benefits:

  • You will know what your main activities are and how you need to adapt them to the SDGs.
  • You have defined which strategic activities are needed to realize the different business cases (lower cost, stay compliant, etc.) and what are the ‘no regrets’ (activities that will work in every scenario).
  • You have estimated the potential costs/investments as well as the benefits of these strategic activities (business impact).

Track Objective

During our annual event The Future of Corporate Reporting, Esther de Graaf from Intire and Piet Briët from Royal FloraHolland presented the results of a broad research regarding the SDGs. The main challenges we discovered as a result of this research, were building the business case, creating the internal support, measuring the performance, defining the KPI's, and integrating the SDGs into the strategy.

This Fast Track SDG Strategy aims to give both a theoretical framework and practical advise to engage with the SDGs in a strategic way. Our aim is to get more companies up to speed with the SDGs and help them overcome the challenges they face in order to get to effective engagement.

The program consists of 3 workshops in which theoretical background and tools will be provided. We will also practice to apply these tools on your own organization. In between the workshops you will continue to apply the provided theory and tools to your organization. With the help of our optional coaching, you work towards a tangible result for your organization, such as a strategy document, a scenario analyses or a value creation model tailored to your own situation

Target Group
